Projekt Świat

About the project

Subject of the project

The subject of ŚWiAT Środowisko Wiedza i Alternatywne Technologie [eng. Environment, Knowledge and Alternative Technologies] project is the preparation of educational and information activities regarding the observation of nature and the analysis of climate change in the county by conducting a campaign using the data from 9 weather stations. The project includes ecological trails, weather stations, eco-garden and the Local Centre of Weather Stations and Natural Science Knowledge where the weather data from all weather stations are collected and analysed.

The aim of the eco-garden and greenhouse is to raise ecological awareness in the field of environmental protection, nature conservation and ecology. Thanks to the preparation and cultivation of plots and in the greenhouse, the recipients will acquire not only theoretical but also practical knowledge through field activities involving the cultivation of an ecological garden using traditional and ecological methods as well as plant care.

The project also includes information and education meetings, classes, field activities and tours aimed at making the residents aware of the need for activities related to the protection of natural resources.

Depending on the forms of education undertaken, the recipients of the project are adults, youth, pupils and preschoolers. Indirect recipients are people traveling on the Piast Trail. The direct ecological effect will be: encouraging recipients to learn about nature, the ability to observe atmospheric phenomena and natural values, raising sensitivity to the surrounding nature, shaping environmental-friendly behaviour, promoting nature conservation.

 Project objectives

The project objectives are shaping ecological attitudes and raising participants’ awareness of environmental and nature protection. Therefore, the direct ecological effect will be the following information and education activities, which will translate into measurable results:

  • encouraging children, youth and residents to learn the laws of nature,
  • the ability to observe atmospheric phenomena and natural values,
  • learnign to explore the world of plants,
  • discovering places of natural value,
  • developing sensitivity to the surrounding nature,
  • shaping environmental-friendly behaviour,
  • inspiration for creative activity,
  • promoting the idea of nature conservation.

The increase in ecological awareness of the Gniezno County residents is achieved through access to modern tools for collecting and analysing the meteorological information about the changing climate and the need to take new actions adapting to the changing environment. This will translate into the achievement of the following objectives: preserving and protecting the natural environment and supporting resource efficiency.
